The vision will serve as a guide for the coming years and will indicate the direction for the future development of the service. This is a process that will take time and money. One of the aspects that the DOW will pay attention to in the coming years is the improvement of personnel (necessary training, on-the-job training) and personnel tools. This will help the service achieve its goals. Therefore, it is important that the vision is clear to everyone, that it motivates and that it is measurable and achievable.

The specific objectives of the DOW are:
• Deliver greater productivity to the community with the resources available and within the multi-annual framework agreed with the Netherlands;
• Promote integrity, transparency and objectivity in the operation of the DOW;
• Increase customer service and friendliness;
• Minimize inconvenience or inconvenience to the community during the execution of the work.
• Establish partnerships with both government services and the private sector, locally and/or internationally, to exchange knowledge and experiences.
