Department of Supervision and Legal Affairs informs the community of Aruba about construction permits requested and granted in 2024

The Department of Supervision and Legal Affairs wishes to inform the community of Aruba about the number of construction permits requested and granted in the year 2024.

Below is an overview of the number of construction permit applications received by the department between January 3, 2024, and December 30, 2024:

Construction permits requested: 991
Construction permits granted: 720
Construction permits rejected: 382
Construction permits collected: 715
Have you recently received a plot of land?
To apply for a construction permit, you must submit the following documents to the DOW (Department of Public Works):

For a residential building:
House plan (bestektekening), 2 copies
Location plan (situatie tekening), 2 copies
Structural plan and calculations (constructie tekening en berekening), 2 copies
Notarial deed or a Ministerial Decree, 1 copy
A form of identification, 1 copy
Completed DOW application form
Payment of Afl. 200,-

For a commercial building:
Commercial building plan (bestektekening), 4 copies
Location plan (situatie tekening), 4 copies
Structural plan and calculations (constructie tekening en berekeningen), 2 copies
Notarial deed or a Ministerial Decree, 1 copy
A form of identification, 1 copy
Completed DOW application form
Completed DTI application form
Payment of Afl. 200,-

When submitting the application, an initial payment of Afl. 200,- is required. Once the permit is granted, the remaining amount must be paid when collecting the permit.
